3O POINTS A photograph measures 10 inches by 12 inches. A frame with constant width is placed around the photograph so that the total area of the framed photo is 288 square inches. What is the width of the frame?

What I did was trial and error. (There is a mathematical way to do this but...)
so you have 10*12 and that equals 120. That is the area of the photo. With the frame, the area is 288.
Increase each number as so:
11*13=143.......continue trial and error
16*18=288
answer: 16
