Astronomers measure large distances in light-years. One light-year is the distance that light can travel in one year, or approxi

mately 5.88 x 1012 miles. Suppose a star is 1.23 x 102 light-years from Earth. In scientific notation, approximately how many miles is it?
12.3 x 10^12
7.23 x 10^13
7.23 x 10^14

The Budget Car Rental rates for renting a car for a day is shown in the table.

▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪  {\huge\mathfrak{Answer}}▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪

According to given information,

a.) Initial cost of renting car (y - intercept (b)) = the total cost when the distance travelled = 0

that is :

  • blank - 1 : $ 100

b.) rate of change = slope

  • \dfrac{y2 - y1}{x2 - x1}

  • \dfrac{105 - 100}{100 - 0}

  • \dfrac{5}{100}

  • \dfrac{1}{20}

  • blank - 2 : \dfrac{1}{20}

c.) Let's

  • y = mx + c

and according to above data :

  • y = C

  • x = d

  • m = 1/20

  • c = 100

so, the required equation is :

  • c =  \dfrac{1}{20} d + 100

put this equation in blank - 3 ~

May I get help with this thanks

Take one of the 'x's in the table.
Write it in place of 'x' in one of the choices.
See if it produces the 'y' in the same choice.
It will only do that in one of the choices.

This is exactly how you check your solution to an equation
to see whether it works.

Function 1 has a maximum at y = 1
Now we need to find the maximum of Function 2 by completing the square:
-x^2 + 2x - 3
= -(x^2 - 2x) - 3
= -(x - 1)^2 +1 - 3
= -(x - 1)^2 - 2
Therefor the turning point is at (1, -2) and the maximum is at y = -2

-2 < 1, therefor Function 1 has the larger maximum

What is the slope of a line that is perpendicular to the line with equation 12x+3y=9?
Masteriza [31]

Answer:

perpendicular slope= 1/4

Step-by-step explanation:

you have to make the equation equal to y so that would be -4x+3=y

and then you just find the negative reciprocal of the slope -4 which would be 1/4
