Adult stem cells are the body’s toolbox, called into action by normal wear and tear on the body, and when serious damage or disease attack. Researchers believe that adult stem cells also have the potential, as yet untapped, to be tools in medicine. Scientists and physicians are working towards being able to treat patients with their own stem cells, or with banked donor stem cells that match them genetically.

For survival a hummingbird uses a considerable amount of energy . This energy most directly results from the life activity of ?
insens350 [35]

This energy most directly results from the life activity of respiration.

The hummingbirds have very high energy expenditure (have the highest oxygen requirements of all vertebrae) with a fast heart rate, very fast wing beats and sustained hovering. So the hummingbird is nearly always on the edge of starvation, needing to take in more nectar than its body weight each day.

The respiratory system of these birds is highly adapted for the high oxygen needs. So, the muscles of the hummingbird cause pressure changes within the air sacs. As a result, more oxygen can enter the respiratory system. Also, they have the highest density of red blood cells which allows them to rise heart beat to around 500 breaths per minute during flight.

Which effect is most likely from a hurricane? damaged homes due to flooding forest fires due to lightning strikes cars sucked in
lyudmila [28]

A natural calamity in which a low pressure centered low atmospheric air movement along with strong winds and rain occurs is called a hurricane it is also known as a tropical cyclone.

The effect that most likely occurs due to a hurricane is:

Option A. Damaged houses due to flooding.

The effect can be explained as:

 • The hurricane can cause storm surge in which the levels of the sea rises than normal and causes high tides that can lead to floods.

 • The heavy rainfalls and typhoons caused by hurricanes lead to floods that damage homes.

 • Hail and forest fires due to lightning strikes are not caused by hurricanes and hence are not affected by the hurricane.

Therefore, hurricane causes flooding.

A certain species of rabbit can have either black or grey fur. The allele for black over the grey fur. If a homozygous black rab
Scilla [17]

Answer:

100% black

Explanation:

The allele for black is dominant over that of the grey fur.

Let B represents the allele for black color and b for grey color.

Homozozygous black rabbit will have the genotype: BB

Heterozygous black rabbit will have the genotype: Bb

If the two are crossed;

BB x Bb

Offspring: BB, Bb, BB, and Bb = 2BB and 2Bb

2BB = Black fur

2Bb = Black fur (heterozygous)

Both BB and Bb offspring are black phenotypically.

Hence, all the offspring will appear black, a phenotypical ratio of 100% black.
