Chemistry

1. Atoms form chemical bonds in order to make their outer electron shells more stable. 2. noble gases could not form compounds due to their full valence shell of electrons that rendered them very chemically stable and unreactive.

The noble gasses are the least reactive of all elements, but the heavier ones form some molecules. Helium and neon never form molecules. They have completely filled shells with no orbitals available to make covalent bonds and have very high ionization energies so that they do not form ions.

What is the total kinetic and potential energy of all particles in an object or substance?
balandron [24]
Within a given substance, such as water, particles in the solid state have the least amount of kinetic energy. This is because they only vibrate in place. ... They have the most kinetic energy of particles of a given substance. Temperature is a measure of the average kinetic energy of all theparticles in an object.

At what temperature will water change from a solid to a liquid
in Celsius?
Rina8888 [55]

Answer:

Explanation:

For water, the temperature needs to be a little over zero degrees Celsius (0C) for you to melt. If you were salt, sugar, or rock, your melting point is higher than that of water.

Use the bond energy to calculate an approximate value of ΔH for the following reaction. Which is the more stable form of FNO2?
Phoenix [80]

The Lewis structures in which there are no formal charges is the most stable. Hence, structure (b) is the more stable form of FNO2.

Lewis structure

The question is incomplete but I will try to answer you as much as I can. Now the equation is missing hence we can't numerically caculate the enthalpy chnage of the reaction from bond energies. However, we can do this using the formula; Σbond energy of reactants - bond energy of products.

Concerning the Lewis structures of FNO2, the most stable structure is structure (b) as shown in the image attached where the atoms have no formal charges.
