It wont let me post a picture of the angles but they are verticle angles and the equations are (3x+8), (5x-40) and it says find

Vertical angles are equal

5x - 40 = 3x + 8
5x - 3x = 8 + 40
2x = 48
x = 48/2
x = 24

m∠ABC = 3x + 8 = 3 * 24 + 8 = 80°

(or m∠ABC = 5x - 40 = 5 * 24 - 40 = 80°)

Find the volume of the cone whose base is shown and whose altitude is 8 meters.

\bf \textit{volume of a cone}\\\\

-------------------------------\\\\
\textit{base of this cone}\\\\
B=\stackrel{a~square}{5\cdot 5}+\stackrel{semi-circle}{\frac{\pi r^2}{2}}\implies B=25+\frac{\pi 3^2}{2}\\\\\\ B=\stackrel{square}{25}+\stackrel{semi-circle}{\frac{9\pi }{2}}

\textit{height of this cone is just 8}\\\\

\bf \textit{volume of this cone}\\\\
V=B\cdot \cfrac{1}{3}h\implies V=\left( 25+\cfrac{9\pi }{2} \right)\left( \cfrac{8}{3} \right)
\\\\\\
V=\cfrac{200}{3}+\cfrac{3\pi\cdot 4 }{1}\implies V=\cfrac{200}{3}+12\pi

Simplify the expression. Write your answer as a power.<br><br> (−5/7)^8⋅(−5/7)^9
dem82 [27]

Answer: (-\frac{5}{7})^{17}

Step-by-step explanation:

The expression can be simplified by applying the a properties of exponents, specifically the Product of powers, which states that:

(b^a)(b^c)=b^{(a+c)

Where b is the base and a and c are exponents.

 Then simplify it by rewriting the base (-\frac{5}{7}) and adding the exponents of the expression (8 and 9).

You will get the expression simplified and written as a power:

(-\frac{5}{7})^8(-\frac{5}{7})^9=(-\frac{5}{7})^{(8+9)}=(-\frac{5}{7})^{17}

This situation shows that <em>the sides lengths of rectangle P is three times longer than the similar sides on Q</em>. <em>x correlates to 4 ft</em>, and <em>9 ft correlates to y</em>.

This means <em>x = 3*4</em> and <em>9 = 3*y</em>.

x = 12 (simplification)

y = 9/3 (division)

y = 3 (simplification)

Snowcat [4.5K]
Digit 3 on the 10 side has a value of 3 tens or 30. We want to find the digit that has exactly 10 times that value. well, 10 × 30 = 300. So which digit has the value of 300? The other 3 is in the 100's place and it's value is 3 one hundreds or 300. So that is your digit... the 3 in the hundreds place.
