80% chance of getting any individual question right. What are your chances of getting them all right

Answer:

.262144, or about 26%

Step-by-step explanation:

Use what people call the Multiplication Principle.  If there are two independent events--the outcome of one does not affect the outcome of the other--multiply their probabilities to find the probability of both occurring.

The questions are independent -- answering one question does not affect the answer to any other question.

The chance of answering all 6 questions correctly is

(.8)\times(.8)\times(.8)\times(.8)\times(.8)\times(.8)=(.8)^6

A tree 5 feet tall grows an average of 8 inches each year. Write and graph an equation to model the tree's height h after x year
Stolb23 [73]
Okay my example will be for if you watched that tree for like 5 years and I can`t really put in a graph here so sorry about that

The equation is basically the original height, 5 foot, and multiply it by the number of years you`ve been watching it grow for example when you watch it for 6 years then it will be the original height of 5 foot multiplied by the number years it has been since you look at it which is 6 years. 5 * 6 = 30 so after 6 years it will grow 30 inches.
1st year: 5 foot
2nd year: 5 foot * 2 = 10 inch increase in height
3rd year: 5 foot * 3 = 15 inch increase in height
4th year: 5 foot * 4 = 20 inch increase in height
5th year: 5 foot * 5 = 25 inch increase in height
So basically the equation is 5 foot * the number of years its been = total increase in height

I hope this helps

How many solutions does this system of equations have?
victus00 [196]
Infinitely many because if you take the top equation and multiply it by 2 you get the same equation. That means that any number you plug in for x is a solution
