In what ways were the interests of champlain and his fellow frenchmen the same? in what ways were they different?
ollegr [7]

Although Champlain was most likely a commoner at birth, he was given an honorary but unofficial title at the court of Henry IV after developing a reputation as a navigator (having taken part in a voyage to the West Indies and Central America).

He agreed to go to what he named the River of Canada in 1603 after receiving an invitation (St. Lawrence River). In a longboat, he traveled upstream from the mother ship's anchoring at the summer trading port of Tadoussac to the location of Montreal and its rapids.

His account of the journey was rapidly made public in France, and in 1604 he traveled to Acadia, a location near the Bay of Fundy, with a group of unfortunate settlers.
