or

Rember the equation

time * speed = distance

or

T * S = D

now plug in the known values

time = 20 min

or you could also say that the time is 1/3 hour

distance = 5 miles

20min * S = 5miles

divide by 20

S = 5 / 20

S = 1/4  mile per minute

another way of doing this with different units is

1/3 hour * S = 5 miles

divide 1/3 (same as multiplying 3)

s = 15 miles per hour
