Maddi went to the store and bought 5 packs of gummy bears and 2 drinks for a total of $5.84. Stephen went to the same store and

bought 2 packs of gummy bears and 8 drinks for a total of $10.40. Write and solve a system of equations and use it to determine the cost of gummy bears and drinks.
(part 2) Aaron went to the same store and bought 2 packs of gummy bears, 4 drinks and picked up a gallon of milk. How much did he spend if the milk cost $4.07?

5x+2y = 5.84 is the equation for maddi.

2x+ 8y =10.40 is the equation for stephen.

set them equal and then cancel them out! if you do that you can plug it into the part 2 equation which is

2x+4y+z=4.07

If a watch has a 0.12 defect rate. what is the probability that the watch has fewer than 3 defects in a run of 75 chimes?
Maslowich

Answer:

(\frac{88}{100})^{75} + \binom{75}{1} (\frac{88}{100})^{74}(\frac{12}{100}) + \binom{75}{2} (\frac{88}{100})^{73}(\frac{12}{100})^{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

If a watch has fewer than three defects, then either 1.) It has no defects, 2.) it has exactly 1 defect, or 3.) it has exactly 2 defects.

1.) The probability that the watch has no defects is (\frac{88}{100})^{75}, because for every chime there is a probability of \frac{88}{100} that there is no defect

2.) The probability that the watch has exactly 1 defect is (\frac{88}{100})^{74}(\frac{12}{100}) times the number of ways you can choose 1 of 75 of the chimes to be defective, which is \binom{75}{1}, so the probability that the watch has exactly 1 defect is \binom{75}{1} (\frac{88}{100})^{74}(\frac{12}{100}).

3.) For the same reason as 2.), the probability that the watch has exactly two defects is \binom{75}{2} (\frac{88}{100})^{73}(\frac{12}{100})^{2}

Since 1.), 2.), and 3.) are mutually exclusive events, the probability of their union is simply the probability of each of them added together, which is (\frac{88}{100})^{75} + \binom{75}{1} (\frac{88}{100})^{74}(\frac{12}{100}) + \binom{75}{2} (\frac{88}{100})^{73}(\frac{12}{100})^{2}

Answer:

10. 48 degrees 11. Use explanation below. 12. 25 degrees 13.Use explanation below. 14. 63 degrees 15. Use explanation below. 16. 130.5 17. A. 48 degrees B. 90 degrees and C. 42 degrees 18. Explain

Step-by-step explanation:

10. All triangles angles add up to 180 degrees, so 100+32=132 and 180-132=48

11. Use the explanation above.

12. Using the rule above 88+57=145 and 180-145= 25

13. Use explanation above.

14. Add the two answers from 10 and 12. 48+25= 63

15. Use explanation above.

16. Using the triangle 180 degrees rule add 90 degrees (Angle a is a right angle which is always 90 degrees) to 40.5 degrees. 40.5 + 90= 130.5

17. You have angle A (48) angle B is a right angle aka 90 degrees and using the rule 90+ 48= 138 and 180-138= 42

18. I think you can explain it now (I hope)
