<em><u>The cost of production equation is:</u></em>

C = 10n + 20000

<em><u>Solution:</u></em>

<em><u>The equation representing the cost, C, of producing n tires at Royal Tires Co. can be written as:</u></em>

C = mn + f

Where,

C = cost

n = number of tires

f = company's fixed cost

<em><u>It costs $30,000 to produce 1,000 tires while it costs $50,000 to produce 3,000 tires</u></em>

Therefore,

30, 000 = m(1000) + f

50, 000 = m(3000) + f

Which is,

1000m + f = 30000 ------- eqn 1

3000m + f = 50000 ------- eqn 2

Subtract eqn 1 from eqn 2

3000m + f = 50000

1000m + f = 30000

( - ) -------------------

2000m = 20,000

m = 10

Substitute m = 10 in eqn 1

1000(10) + f = 30000

f = 30000 - 10000

f = 20,000

Thus the equation is:

C = 10n + 20000

35x+10. How do I solve this?
kicyunya [14]

Hey there Bfarrar07 !

This is pretty simple when you think about it.

With algebra problems like this, you want to set it equal to zero.

So your first step is to take 35x + 10 and set it equal to zero.

35x + 10 = 0

Then bring the 10 to the other side by subtracting it, so you have something like this:

35x + 10 (-10) = -10 (Remember, what you do to one side you have to do to the other!) So when you take 10 from the left, you have to take ten from the right.

You now have 35x = -10

In order to get x by itself, you need to divide the problem by 35.

35x/35 = -10/35

On the left hand side, the 35's cancel out, so you're left with x.

And on the right hand side you have -10/35

So x = -10/35 (Don't forget to simplify!)

-10/35 can be reduced to -5/7

X = - 5/7

Hope this helps!

When network cards are communicating, bits can occasionally be corrupted in transmission. Engineers have de- termined that the n
ycow [4]

Answer:

a) 11.40% probability of 5 bits being in error during the transmission of 1 kb

b) 11.60% probability of 8 bits being in error during the transmission of 2 kb

c) 0.01% probability of no error bits in 3kb

Step-by-step explanation:

In a Poisson distribution, the probability that X represents the number of successes of a random variable is given by the following formula:

P(X = x) = \frac{e^{-\mu}*\mu^{x}}{(x)!}

In which

x is the number of sucesses

e = 2.71828 is the Euler number

\mu is the mean in the giveninterval.

Poisson distribution with mean of 3.2 bits/kb (per kilobyte).

This means that \mu = 3.2kb, in which kb is the number of kilobytes.

(a) What is the probability of 5 bits being in error during the transmission of 1 kb?

This is P(X = 5) when \mu = 3.2

P(X = x) = \frac{e^{-\mu}*\mu^{x}}{(x)!}

P(X = 5) = \frac{e^{-3.2}*3.2^{5}}{(5)!} = 0.1140

11.40% probability of 5 bits being in error during the transmission of 1 kb

(b) What is the probability of 8 bits being in error during the transmission of 2 kb?

This is P(X = 8) when \mu = 2*3.2 = 6.4

P(X = x) = \frac{e^{-\mu}*\mu^{x}}{(x)!}

P(X = 8) = \frac{e^{-6.4}*6.4^{8}}{(8)!} = 0.1160

11.60% probability of 8 bits being in error during the transmission of 2 kb

(c) What is the probability of no error bits in 3kb?

This is P(X = 0) when \mu = 3*3.2 = 9.6

Then

P(X = x) = \frac{e^{-\mu}*\mu^{x}}{(x)!}

P(X = 0) = \frac{e^{-9.6}*9.6^{0}}{(0)!} = 0.0001

0.01% probability of no error bits in 3kb

A potato launcher uses a spring that can apply a force of 20N to potato’s. He launches a 100 gram potato, what is the accelerati
shepuryov [24]

Answer:

200 m s^-2.

133.33 ms^-2.

100 m s^-2.

Step-by-step explanation:

Use Newton's Second Law of motion:

Force = mass * acceleration

The force is in Newtons so the mass must be in kilograms#

100 g = 0.1 kg. So:

20 = 0.1 * a

a = 20/ 0.1 = 200 m s^-2.

We calculate the acceleration for  the 150g and 200g potato in the same way.

beks73 [17]

Answer:

The answer to your question is 17/24 gallon

Step-by-step explanation:

Data

total volume = 1 gallon

She uses 3/8 gallon and 1/3 gallon

Process

1.- To find the answer, just sum up the water she used to water her roses and the volume she used to water her geraniums.

            3/8 + 1/3 =

- Look for the Least common factor

   8 x 3 = 24           LCF = 24

- Solve the fraction

           3/8 + 1/3 = (9 + 8) / 24

                          = 17/24

2.- Conclusion

     She used 17/24 gallon to water her flowers.
