A program reads as follows:

Mathematics
1 answer:
Sveta_85 [38]4 years ago
8 0

The program goes through the following steps when the input is 13

step 1) check to see if the age is less than 2. It is not, so we move on

step 2) check to see if the age is 2 to less than 12. It is not, so we move on

step 3) check to see if the age is 12 to less than 22. We are in the right range, so we execute the print statement "student admission is $8"

After this the program is done. It doesn't check to see if the age is greater than 22 (that only would apply if the other if statements were false).

So we have four steps. The first three are checking those "if" statements mentioned. The fourth statement is executing the print output to show the price.

Solve for x. Enter the solutions from least to greatest.<br>(x+7)^2 −49=0<br><br><br>Help plz
Ghella [55]

Answer:

x=-14\text{ and } x=0

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given:

(x+7)^2-49=0

And we want to solve for <em>x</em>.

First, we can add 49 to both sides:

(x+7)^2=49

Now, we can take the square root of both sides. Since we are taking an even root, we will need plus-minus. Hence:

x+7=\pm\sqrt{49}

Evaluate:

x+7=\pm7

Subtract 7 from both sides:

x=-7\pm7

So, we have two solutions:

x=-7+7\text{ and } x=-7-7

Evaluate:

x=0\text{ and } x=-14

So, from least to greatest, our solutions are:

x=-14\text{ and } x=0

What is the lateral area of a pyramid with base edges 5ft and surface area 55ft^2? ...?
nevsk [136]
The answer is  30 ft²

The surface area (SA) of a pyramid is the sum of lateral area (LA) of the pyramid and the area of its base (BA):
SA = LA + BA

The area of the pyramid base (which is a square) with base edge a is:
BA = a²

We have:
SA = 55 ft²
LA = ?
a = 5 ft

LA = SA - BA = SA - a²
LA = 55 - 5²
LA = 55 - 25
LA = 30 ft²
