Answer:

21 or 6+15

Step-by-step explanation:

First: You'll have to multiple the outside number by both of inside numbers

(Example): Multiply 3 by 2 getting the answer of 6, and multiply 3 by 5 getting the answer of 15. Then you'll be left with 6+15

Second: You'll have to add both of the answers you get after multiplying both problems

(Example): You'll add 6 and 15 getting 21

What you would have to do is distribute your three to each number in the parentheses using multiplication so your answer would be 6y+15

This is a geometric sequence because each term is a constant multiple, called the common ratio, of the previous term.  In this case the common ratio, noted as "r", is:

8/-2=-32/8=128/-32=r=-4

The first term is -2

Any geometric sequence can be expressed as:

a(n)=ar^(n-1), a=initial term, r=common ratio, n=term number.

Since we know r and a for this problem already we can say:

a(n)=-2(-4)^(n-1)

A chemist is mixing two solutions, solution A and solution B Solution A is 15% water and solution Bis 20% water. She already has
slavikrds [6]

Answer:

15 mL of the solution with 20% water will be needed.

Step-by-step explanation:

Use the inverse relationship

10 mL * (18-15)% = x mL * (20-18)%

x = 10 mL * (3/2) = 15 mL

Solve the system of linear equations by substitution
ziro4ka [17]

y - x = 0  ...equation 1
2x - 5y = 9 \: ...equation  \: 2
working with equation 1
y = x \: ...equation \:  3
next subsitue equation 3 in equation 1
2x - 5(x) = 9
2x - 5x = 9
- 3x = 9
divide by -3
x =  - 3
substitute x= -3 in equation 1
y - ( - 3) = 0
-(-3) = + 3
y =  - 3

Please help me. i want to have this finished.
Anuta_ua [19.1K]
We know that y is equal to x-2. We can just substitute x-2 for y since y is equal to it.

10x- 9(x-2)=24

Distribute.

10x- 9x+18= 24

x+18= 24

Subtract 18 on both sides.

x= 6

Now, plug in x.

y= (6)-2

y= 4

We can check this to see if this works:

4= 6-2, 4=4

10(6)- 9(4)= 24

60-36= 24, 24=24

x=6 and y=4

I hope this helps!
