It is not a function if one of the xs has 2 ys associated with it. The graph below shows the definition rather clearly. The red parabola opens right. There is a blue vertical line that shows the 2 y values that the red graph has.

the green line is a function. Each x has only 1 y associated with it.

Answer

The red line is not a function.

The blue line shows why not (x = 5 has 2 y values).

The green line is a function.

Your question is a function.

Graph the equation (x - 3)^2 + (y - 2)^2 = 25 and y = 6.
Dmitriy789 [7]

Answer:

x=6, x=0

Step-by-step explanation:

(x - 3) ^{2}+ (y - 2) ^{2}= 25

(x - 3) ^{2}+ (6 - 2) ^{2}= 25

In triangle ΔABC, ∠C is a right angle and CD is the height to AB . Find the angles in ΔCBD and ΔCAD if: Chapter Reference a m∠A
Strike441 [17]

Answer:

Given A triangle ABC in which

 ∠C =90°,∠A=20° and CD ⊥ AB.

In Δ ABC

⇒∠A + ∠B +∠C=180° [ Angle sum property of triangle]

⇒20° + ∠B + 90°=180°

⇒∠B+110° =180°

∠B =180° -110°

∠B = 70°

In Δ B DC

∠BDC =90°,∠B =70°,∠BC D=?

∠BDC +,∠B+∠BC D=180°[ angle sum property of triangle]

90° + 70°+∠BC D =180°

∠BC D=180°- 160°

∠BC D = 20°

In Δ AC D

∠A=20°, ∠ADC=90°,∠AC D=?

∠A +  ∠ADC +∠AC D=180° [angle sum property of triangle]

20°+90°+∠AC D=180°

110° +∠AC D=180°

∠AC D=180°-110°

∠AC D=70°

So solution are, ∠AC D=70°,∠ BC D=20°,∠DB C=70°

I leave my family's vacation cabin at 8 a.m. and start driving home at a nice, safe 45 mph. Two hours later, my husband, who alw
Murljashka [212]

Answer:

2:30 pm

Step-by-step explanation:

In two hours (from 10am), she is 45 * 2 = 90 miles from vacation cabin.

From then on her average is still 45 mph and her husband's is 65 mph. So, husband catches her 20 miles (65-45=20) in every hour.

<em>The husband has to catch up 90 miles. How long would it take if he is catching up at 20 miles an hour?</em>

<em>90/20 = 4.5 hours</em>

<em />

<em>So husband starts at 10am and 4.5 hours form that time is 2.30pm</em>
