Answer:

Number of premium tickets sold = 638

Number of regular tickets sold = 552

Step-by-step explanation:

Let number of premium tickets sold be p and number of regular tickets be r.

Total number of seats = 1200

Ticket sales with 10 seats left on, that is

               p + r = 1190     ----------------eqn 1

Cost of premium ticket = 30 $

Cost of regular ticket = 20 $

Money collected = 30180 $

Total money collected = 30 p + 20 r = 30180

                       3p + 2 r = 3018     ----------------eqn 2

eqn 1 x 2

               2p + 2r = 2380 --------------------eqn 3

eqn 2 - eqn 3

                  p = 3018 - 2380 = 638

Substituting in eqn 1

                638 + r = 1190

                 r = 552

Number of premium tickets sold = 638

Number of regular tickets sold = 552

X = premium seats
y = regular seats
You need two equations: (x + y - 10 = 1200) and (30x + 20y = 30,180)
1.) Isolate one variable
y = 1,210 - x
2.) Plug the new equation into the second ORIGINAL equation
30x +20(1,210 - x) = 30,180
3.) Ditribute
30x + 24,200 - 20x = 30,180
4.) Add like terms
10x + 24,200 = 30,180
5.) Subtract 24,000 from either side
10x = 6,180
6.) Solve for x
x = 618
7.) Plug in x to the equation of your choosing
618 + y - 10 = 1200
8.) Solve for y
608 + y = 1,200
y = 592
The theater sold 592 regular seats and 618 premium seats.

What is the median of the data set: {24, 31, 12, 38, 12, 15}A)12B)19.5C)24D)23.5
QveST [7]

Answer: B: 19.5

Step-by-step explanation:

This data set is an even data set meaning that you're going to have to add and divide, so you put your data set in ascending order (highest # to lowest #) so 12,12,15,24,31,38 its an even data set so you're going to put them in groups (remember your finding the median, the middle numbers) so you have 12,12 (one group) and 31,38 (another group) (basically make it even!!) so now you're left with the middle numbers, you have to add them and then divide them by 2 so (15+24) ÷2 and you get your answer !!

zhenek [66]

Answer:

Not true

(x/w)^2 > z

Step-by-step explanation:

(x/w)^2 will be less than 1

z is greater than 1

so (x/w)^2 < z

EastWind [94]

Answer:

x=\frac{-363}{70} ≈ -5.1857

y=\frac{-192}{35} ≈ -5.4857

z=\frac{313}{84} ≈ 3.7262

Step-by-step explanation:

Rewrite the equation system as:

6x+8y=-75

-3x+6y+6z=5

2x-9y=39

Now, write the system in its augmented matrix form:

\left[\begin{array}{cccc}6&8&0&-75\\-3&6&6&5\\2&-9&0&39\end{array}\right]

applying row reduction process to  its associated augmented matrix:

Swap R1 and R3, and then Swap R1 and R2:

\left[\begin{array}{cccc}-3&6&6&5\\2&-9&0&39\\6&8&0&-75\end{array}\right]

R3+2R1

\left[\begin{array}{cccc}-3&6&6&5\\2&-9&0&39\\0&20&12&-65\end{array}\right]

3R2+2R1

\left[\begin{array}{cccc}-3&6&6&5\\0&-15&12&127\\0&20&12&-65\end{array}\right]

15R3+20R2

\left[\begin{array}{cccc}-3&6&6&5\\0&-15&12&127\\0&0&420&1565\end{array}\right]

Now we have a simplified system:

-3x+6y+6z=5\\0-15y+12z=127\\0+0+420z=1565

-3x+6y+6z=5\hspace{5 mm}(1)\\0-15y+12z=127\hspace{3 mm}(2)\\0+0+420z=1565\hspace{3 mm}(3)

From (3):

z=\frac{313}{84} (4)

Replacing (4) in (2)

y=\frac{-192}{35} (5)

Finally replacing (5) and (4) in (1)

x=\frac{-363}{70}
