Answer:

The pressure, when the volume is reduced to 7.88L, is 846 torr (option A)

Explanation:

Step 1: Data given

The temperature of a gas = 25.0°C

AT 25 °C the gas occupies a volume of 10.0L and a pressure of 667 torr.

The volume reduces to 7.88 L but the temperature stays constant.

Step 2: Boyle's law

(P1*V1)/T1 = (P2*V2)/T2

 ⇒ Since the temperature stays constant, we can simplify to:

P1*V1 = P2*V2

⇒ with P1 = the initial pressure 667 torr

⇒ with V1 = the initial volume = 10.0 L

⇒ with P2 = the final pressure = TO BE DETERMINED

⇒ with V2 = the final volume = 7.88L

P2 = (P1*V1)/V2

P2 = (667*10.0)/7.88

P2 = 846 torr

The pressure, when the volume is reduced to 7.88L, is 846 torr (option A)

An elimination reaction can best be described as a reaction in which an elimination reaction can best be described as a reaction
tresset_1 [31]
So I’m not 100% sure what you’re asking but I’m going to give it a go. The elimination reaction is a term used in organic chemistry that describes a type of reactions. The name kinda tells you what’s going to happen. Something is going to be removed/eliminated from initial reactant/substrate and as a result, an alkene (double bond containing compound) will form.

In elimination reactions a hydrogen atom is first removed (as a H+) from the beta carbon. As a result, the left behind electrons create a pi bond between the beta carbon and the neighboring alpha carbon. This promotes the electronegative atom, on the alpha carbon, to leaves the substrate taking both electrons from the shared sigma bond with the alpha carbon.

Is clear water pumped from a deep aquifer a pure substance?
Alexandra [31]

The substance which has definite composition with definite physical and chemical properties is said to be pure substance. These substances are not separated by the different physical techniques such as filtration, distillation, evaporation etc.

The clear water pumped from a deep aquifer is a pure substance because water is a pure compound which consist of constant single type of atoms or group of atoms and water has specific value of boiling and melting point. Water is also not separated into units or constituents by physical technique.

Hence, clear water pumped from a deep aquifer is a pure substance.
