Answer:

circle equation for each pair of points can be expressed as:

(x1−h)2+(y1−k)2=(x2−h)2+(y2−k)2,

we get : (x1−h)2−(x2−h)2=(y2−k)2−(y1−k)2,

(x1−x2)(x1+x2−2h)=(y2−y1)(y2+y1−2k)

Introducing a1=(x1−x2),a′1=(x1+x2),b1=(y2−y1),b′1=(y2+y1)

A savings account compounds interest, at a rate of 22%, once a year. George puts $750 in the account as the principal. How can G
Umnica [9.8K]
George shouldn't think too far.

He should use the formula for Compound Interest.

Amount in compound interest, A = P(1+ r/100)ⁿ.

Where A = Amount, P = Principal, r is the rate per year, n = number of years.

Note: the expression (1+ r/100) is raised to power  n.

From George's problem: P = 750,    r = 22,  I guess number of years , n = x

A(x) = 750( 1 + 22/100)ˣ

A(x) = 750( 1 + 0.22)ˣ

From your options I can't see an answer. Except the expression of option (A) is actually raised to power x, and not times x as stated in the option.

Find the midpoint of the line segment joining the points R(-5,3) and S(1.6)
Naddik [55]

Answer:

(-2, 4.5)

Step-by-step explanation:

The midpoint formula is (\frac{x_{1} +x_{2}}{2} ,\frac{y_{1} +y_{2}}{2})

(-5+1/2, 3+6/2)

(-4/2, 9/2)

Your answer will be (-2, 4.5)

The pulse rates of 174 randomly selected adult males vary from a low of 39 bpm to a high of 111 bpm. Find the minimum sample siz
Daniel [21]

Answer:

a. The sample size is approximately 97 adults

Step-by-step explanation:

The given parameters are;

The number of adults surveyed, n = 174

The lowest value of the pulse rate = 39 bpm

The highest value of the pulse rate = 111 bpm

The level of confidence used for determining the sample size = 90%

The given sample mean = 3 pm of the population mean

a. The range rule of thumb states that the standard deviation is approximately one quarter (1/4) of the range

The range = 111 bpm - 39 bpm = 72 bpm

Therefore, the standard deviation, σ = 72 bpm/4 = 18 bpm

The sample size, 'N', is given as follows;

N = \dfrac{z^2 \cdot p \cdot q}{e^2}

Where;

N = The sample size

z = The confidence level, 90% (z-score at 90% = 1.645)

p·q = σ² = 18² = 324

e² = 3² = 9

N = \dfrac{1.645^2  \times 324}{3^2} = 97.4169

Therefore the appropriate sample size, N ≈ 97 adults.
