Earth orbits the sun in an elliptical pattern. The equation of Earth's path is.... where the measurements represent millions of

kilometers. The sun is located at the focus whose coordinate is (0,0). In January, Earth is located at one of the vertices, which is 147 million kilometers from the sun. Determine Earth's distance from the sun in July.

General equation of Ellipse centered at (h,k) is given as

\frac{(x-h)^{2}}{a^{2}} + \frac{(y-k)^{2}}{b^{2}} =1\\

where a is the radius along x-axis

and b is radius along y-axis.

Given : The equation of elliptical path of Earth as

\frac{(x+2.5)^{2}}{22350.25} + \frac{y^{2}}{22344} = 1\\

Comparing the equation with the general equation, we get

(h,k) as (-2.5,0)

a = \sqrt{22350.25} = 149.5

b = \sqrt{22344} = 149.48

We have the Sun located at the coordinate (0,0).

Hence, the distance between Sun and Earth in July = 149.5 + 2.5 =152

∴ Earth's distance from the Sun in July is 152 million kilometers.

Look at this system of equations.<br> 4x+3y=33<br> 2x+3y=21<br> What is the value of x+y?
Maurinko [17]

Answer:

x = 6

y = 3

x + y = 9

Step-by-step explanation:

(Step 1)

Isolate one of the variables in one of the equations. This will allow you to solve by substitution in the following steps.

2x + 3y = 21                             <----- Original equation

3y = -2x + 21                            <----- Subtract 2x from both sides

y = (-2/3)x + 7                          <----- Divide all terms by 3

(Step 2)

Substitute the new equation into the untouched equation and isolate the "x" variable.

4x + 3y = 33                                 <----- Original equation

4x + 3((-2/3)x + 7) = 33                <------ Substitute manipulated equation

4x - 2x + 21 = 33                          <------ Multiply 3 by terms in parentheses

2x + 21 = 33                                 <------ Subtract terms with variables

2x = 12                                         <----- Subtract 21 from both sides

x = 6                                             <----- Divide both sides by 2

(Step 3)

Plug the value of "x" into one of the equations to find the value of "y".

4x + 3y = 33                               <----- Original equation

4(6) + 3y = 33                             <----- Plug 6 in for "x"

24 + 3y = 33                               <----- Multiply

3y = 9                                         <----- Subtract 24 from both sides

y = 3                                           <----- Divide both sides by 3

(Step 4)

Since you now know the value of both variables, you can add them together to find your final answer.

x = 6

y = 3

x + y = ?

6 + 3 = ?

9 = ?

What is the simplest form of the expression?
Rina8888 [55]
^ 3 sqrt 750 + ^ 3 sqrt 2058 - ^ 3 sqrt 48
 Rewriting the expression we have
 ^ 3 sqrt (6 * x ^ 3) + ^ 3 sqrt (6 * y ^ 3) - ^ 3 sqrt (6 * z ^ 3)
 That is, we have the following equations:
 6 * x ^ 3 = 750
 6 * y ^ 3 = 2058
 6 * z ^ 3 = 48
 Clearing x, y and z we have:
 x = 5
 y = 7
 z = 2
 Then, rewriting the expression
 x (^ 3 sqrt (6)) + y (^ 3 sqrt (6)) - z (^ 3 sqrt (6))
 Substituting the values
 5 (^ 3 sqrt (6)) + 7 (^ 3 sqrt (6 *)) - 2 (^ 3 sqrt (6))
 10 (^ 3 sqrt (6))
 answer
 the simple form of the expression is

Please help!!! I'll mark you as BRAINLIEST and give you 10 points!!!!!
zheka24 [161]

Answer:

6

Step-by-step explanation:

Okay so the shape has an area of 60 square inches. The formula for the area of a triangle is A = b*h where A = area, b = base, and h = height

So we are given the value for A (60)

We are given the value for height (10)

So we just need to find the value of the base

So let's set this up as an equation. Input the given values into the area for triangle formula

A = B*h

60 = B * 10

So we need to solve for B. To do that we need to get B alone on one side of the = sign. B is being multiplied by 10 so do the opposite and divide both sides by 10

60 divided by 10 = 6

10 divided by 10 = 1 (don't actually put a 1 down, just drop it)

So we are left with

6 = B

So the base is 6 square inches. To test, put it in the equation:

A = B*h

60 = 6*10

60 = 60
