The Chewy Candy Company is test marketing a new candy bar in Seoul and Manila. In Seoul, the company sold 40 candy bars the firs

t month, and each month the cumulative total number of candy bars sold increases by 60. In Manila, the company sold 20 candy bars the first month, and the cumulative total number of candy bars sold increases by approximately 80 percent each month. In which month will the cumulative total number of candy bars sold in Manila first exceed the cumulative total in Seoul?

Looking at the image attached, we can see the assumed sales of the Chewy Candy Company for its new candy bar in Manila and Seoul. Setting up the given condition for separate branches, we clearly see that during the 6th month, the total sales in Manila first exceeded the cumulative total sales in Seoul.

Please solve this simultaneous equation, i'm not that good at it.

2r-s=10
rs-s^2=12
o-na [289]

Answer:

s = 6, r = 8 or s = 4, r = 7

Step-by-step explanation:

2r - s = 10

2r = 10 + s

r = 5 + s/2 --(1)

rs - s^2 = 12 --(2)

sub (1) into (2):

(5 + s/2)s - s^2 = 12

5s + 0.5s^2 - s^2 = 12

-0.5s^2 + 5s - 12 = 0

s^2 - 10s + 24 = 0

(s - 6)(s - 4) = 0

therefore s = 6 or s = 4

when s = 6, r = 8 and when s = 4, r = 7

This lesson discusses _____ related to the circle.
galina1969 [7]

Answer:

Theorems

Step-by-step explanation:

Theorems is the right answer.

A circle is a geometric figure where all points on the circle keep equal distances from a point called the centre.

A circle has so many important properties.

The important of these are called theorems related to circles.

Some of the theorems are

i)Central angle theorem

ii) Opposite angles are supplementary for a cyclic quadrilateral, etc

Hence theorems would be the appropriate word for filling up the answer

Amiraneli [1.4K]
To find the percent of increase get the difference between the prices and then divided by the oringinal price and then time that by 100

increase = \frac{1.34 - .99}{.99} \times 100
