There are 87 girls and 58 boys!

i divided 5 from 145 and got 29.
i multiplied 29 and 3 and got 87.
87 is the girls total.
then subtracted 87 from 145 and got 58.
58 is the boys total.

hope this helps!

Answer:

You Can do this in two ways. I will shaw both, the first one is more common and more easy :

Method 1:

 3/5 of 145 = girls

 boys = girls - boys or 2/5

 3/5 x 145 = 87

 girls = 87

 boys = 145-87 = 58

Method 2:

 3/5 of 145 = girls

 boys = girls - boys or 2/5

 3/5 x 145 = 87

 girls = 87

 2/5 x 145 = 58

 boys = 58

Thank You

In an arithmetic series, what is the sum of the first 22 terms if the first term is 12 and the common difference is 3?
Vilka [71]

Answer:

561

Step-by-step explanation:

an = dn - (a-d)

The difference is 3.

The first term is 12.

an = 3n - (12-3)

an = 3n - 9

Put n as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 ....22.

3(1) - 9 = -6

3(2) - 9 = -3

3(3) - 9 = 0

3(4) - 9 = 3

3(5) - 9 = 6

...

3(22) - 9 = 57

Add the first 22 terms.

-6+-3+0+3+6+9+12+15+18+21+24+27+30+33+36+39+42+45+48+51+54+57

= 561

14. A plane traveled from California and back. It took one hour longer on the way out than it did on the way back. The plane's a
kow [346]

Answer:

 C. 7 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the time for the trip out be represented by t. Then the time for the return trip is t-1. The distance was the same for both trips, so we have ...

 distance = speed × time

 300t = 350(t -1)

 300t = 350t -350 . . . . eliminate parentheses

 350 = 50t . . . . . . . . . . add 350-300t

 7 = t . . . . . . divide by 50

The trip out took 7 hours.
