Find area of carpet and subtract from area of living room
2 feet border around all so we have
legnth and width of room is 12 and 10

legnth and width of carpet is (12-2-2) and (10-2-2)
it is minus 2 twice since there are 2 sides of the carpet so
L and W of carpet=8 and 6
so area

area of living room=LW=(12)(10)=120
area of carpet=LW=(8)(6)=48
subtract
120-48=72
area is 72 ft^2 or 72 square feet

Josh sold 465 bottles of apple cider and 605 bottles of wine. He made $10,050 altogether. If he sold 465 bottles of apple cider
Anon25 [30]

Answer:

465a + 605w = $10050

465a + 586w = 9822

465a + 605w = 10050

-465a - 586w = -9822

19w = 228

w= $12 each for wine

465a + 605(12)= 10050

465a + 7260= 10050

465a = 2790

a =$6 each apple cider

30 pts! solve the following equation. (x - 18)^2 = 1
melamori03 [73]

Answer:

D - x = 19 x = -17

Step-by-step explanation:

Factor the equation to make the problem easier - you should have this:

(x - 18) (x + 18) = 1

Set each binomial to 1:

x - 18 = 1

x + 18 = 1

This should give you x = 19 and x = -17
