Thomas Paine doesn’t give advice to people from outside. In this words, he is just one man with all the others. He manages to involve all ranks in a common goal and with that he forces everyone to be one with the cause. the words are clear and simple, not only full of common sense but also reach the heart making each man feel responsible for their destiny and that of others. Being in those ranks and listening to this speech must have been enormously motivating. Since it touches many points of doubt and conflict for the men who are there, such as the strategies of the enemy, the dangers of conciliation and the profile of the opponent, it helps everyone to generate a common idea of the enormous responsibility they share.
