Answer:

  160 mph

Step-by-step explanation:

The relationship between time, speed, and distance is ...

  time = distance/speed

__

If p represents the plane's speed, then the speed with the wind is p+20 and the time to go 405 miles is ...

  405/(p+20)

The speed against the wind is p-20, and the time to go 315 miles is ...

  315/(p-20)

These two times are equal, so we have ...

  405/(p+20) = 315/(p-20)

  405(p-20) = 315(p+20) . . . . . . cross multiply

  90p = 6300 +8100 = 14400 . . . . add 8100 -315p

  p = 14400/90 = 160

The speed of the plane in still air is 160 mph.

Otrada [13]

Answer:

  $892.50

Step-by-step explanation:

The amount of interest earned is given by ...

  I = Prt

Filling in the given values, we have ...

  $178.50 = P·0.04·5

Dividing by 0.20 gives ...

  $178.50/0.20 = P = $892.50

The principal amount in Kelly's account is $892.50.

Pls I need help with this ASAP
andrew-mc [135]

Answer:

The answer is 30.

Step-by-step explanation:

All of those angles will add up to 360 degrees. Since 150 is the same as the angle across from it that means the other one is 150. Add those 2 together that gets 300. So what is left? It is 60. So divide 60 between those two angles and you get 30.

Find a power series representation of e^x sin(x)
liberstina [14]
The Taylor series is defined by:
f(x) = \sum \frac{f^n (a)}{n!} (x-a)^n

Let a = 0.
Then its just a matter of finding derivatives and determining how many terms is needed for the series.

Derivatives can be found using product rule:
f^n (x) = e^x g^{n-1} (x) + e^x g^n (x)  \\ g^0 (x) = sin x

Do this successively to n = 6.
f^1 (x) = e^x (sinx +cos x) \\ f^2 (x) = e^x (2cos x)  \\ f^3 (x) = e^x(2cos x - 2sin x)  \\ f^4 (x) = e^x (-4 sin x)  \\ f^5 (x) = e^x(-4sinx -4cos x) \\ f^6(x) = e^x(-8cos x)

Plug in x=0 and sub into taylor series:
e^x  sin x = x+x^2 +\frac{x^3}{3} -\frac{x^5}{30}-\frac{x^6}{90}...

If more terms are needed simply continue the recursive derivative formula and add to taylor series.
