The Great Sandini is a 60-kg circus performer who is shot from a cannon (actually a spring gun). You don’t find many men of his

caliber, so you help him design a new gun. This new gun has a very large spring with a very small mass and a force constant of 1100 N/m that he will compress with a force of 4400 N. The inside of the gun barrel is coated with Teflon, so the average friction force will be only 40 N during the 4.0 m he moves in the barrel. At what speed will he emerge from the end of the barrel, 2.5 m above his initial rest position?

Answer:

V=15.46m/s

Explanation:

By making an energy balance:

Initial energy:  \frac{K*X^2}{2}   where K=1100N/m  and X=4m

Final energy: \frac{m*V^2}{2} + m*g*h   where m=60kg and h=2.5m

Work done by friction force: -Ff*X   where Ff = 40N and X=4m

The balance will be:

\frac{m*V^2}{2} + m*g*h-\frac{K*X^2}{2}=-Ff*X  Solving for V:

V=\sqrt{\frac{-Ff*X+K*X^2/2-m*g*h}{m/2} }=15.46m/s  using g=9.8m/s^2

Find the range of a projectile launched at an angle of 30° with an initial velocity of 20m/s.
Tems11 [23]

Answer:

<em>The range is 35.35 m</em>

Explanation:

<u>Projectile Motion</u>

It's the type of motion that experiences an object projected near the Earth's surface and moves along a curved path exclusively under the action of gravity.

Being vo the initial speed of the object, θ the initial launch angle, and g=9.8m/s^2 the acceleration of gravity, then the maximum horizontal distance traveled by the object (also called Range) is:

\displaystyle d={\frac  {v_o^{2}\sin(2\theta )}{g}}

The projectile was launched at an angle of θ=30° with an initial speed vo=20 m/s. Calculating the range:

\displaystyle d={\frac  {20^{2}\sin(2\cdot 30^\circ )}{9.8}}

\displaystyle d={\frac  {400\sin(60^\circ )}{9.8}}

d=35.35\ m

The range is 35.35 m

Use Snell's Law to solve the following:
azamat

Answer:

1.171

Explanation:

if n₁sinΘ₁=n₂sinΘ₂, then n₂=n₁sinΘ₁ / sinΘ₂;

n_2=\frac{1.5*sin45}{sin65}=\frac{1.5*0.707}{0.906} =1.1705

Write extensively on expansion of liquid and water . I will mark brainliest answer
kenny6666 [7]

Answer:

Water expands when it freezes making it less dense than the water from which it freezes. In fact, its volume is a little over 9% greater (or density ca. 9% lower) than in the liquid state. For this reason, ice floats on the water (like an ice cube in a glass of water).
