F(x) = g(x+1)

Mathematics

g(x)=h(2x)-x\implies h(2x)=g(x)+x

f(x)=g(x+1)\implies g(x)=f(x-1)

Taken together, we get

h(2x)=f(x-1)+x

Since 2018=2\cdot1009, the above gives

a^3=f(1008)+1009

We have

f(y)=\displaystyle\sum_{i=0}^{1008}(2018-2i)y=1019090y

so that

a^3=1019090\cdot1008+1009

a^3=1027243729=1009^3

\implies a=1009

A machine shop is manufacturing a pair of gears that need to be in a ratio as close to 1.1839323 as possible, but they can’t mak
Afina-wow [57]

Answer: Driven gear will have 50 teeth, and driver gear will have 42 teeth

Step-by-step explanation: First we have to know the formula of gear ratio which is started below

(No of teeth on driven)/(No of teeth on driver)

Note: we should all know in the combination of a gear system, we have two gears, the driver gear and the driven gear

So since the least amount of teeth for any gear is 50, we assume the no of teeth on the driven is 50

And no of teeth on the driver is x

50/x = 1.1839323

Cross multiply

x x 1.1839323 = 50

x = 50/1.1839323

x = 42.23

To the nearest whole number = 42

So therefore, number of teeth on the driver gear is 42

Find the diameter of a circle whose equation is
Olin [163]

Answer:

D) 20

Step-by-step explanation:

x^2 + (y - 2)^2=100

This can be rewritten as

(x-0)^2 + (y - 2)^2=10^2

This is in the form

(x-h)^2 + (y - k)^2=r^2

The radius is 10

The diameter is 2 times the radius

d = 2*r = 2*10 = 20

Write an equation in Slope Intercept form parallel to y = 2x + 3 and passing
Mice21 [21]
Slope intercept form is this:
y - y1 = m(x - x1)
We are given the point of (5, -4) and the equation y = 2x + 3
Our needed equation is parallel to the give equation, meaning it has the same slope which is 2
Plug in the slope which is 2x and the x1 and y1 values given.

y - (-4) = 2(x - 5)

Then, simplify the equation to receive our answer.
y + 4 = 2x -10
y = 2x - 14

y = 2x - 14 is our answer.
