At the same time, she still have hope that she might get her brother back and believes that her brother is alive out. She further believes that her brother has not left her. She also makes preparations believing that her brother will come back for her. This is the reason why she includes the reasons of the Seminoles history and their situation today.

Explanation:

The truth is a lot of people do not feel "connected" or close to Native Americans' history, and everything that have gone through. Having a newspaper article about one of these groups is not engaging, not at least without some element that creates that bonding. It is important to notice that the author is not telling their whole history, but the misery they have lived.
