Answer:

\overline{PQ} = 3

\overline{QR} = 3\sqrt{5}

\overline{PQ} = 6

PQR is a right-angled triangle.

PQR is NOT an isosceles triangle.

Step-by-step explanation:

P(2, -1, 0), Q(4, 1, 1), R(4, -5, 4) are coordinates on a (x,y,z) space.

we can easily find the lengths of each side using the good ol' distance formula.:

\overline{AB}=\sqrt{(x_1 - x_2)^2+(y_1 - y_2)^2+(z_1 - z_2)^2}

To find the distance PQ

\overline{PQ}=\sqrt{(2 - 4)^2+(-1 - 1)^2+(0 - 1)^2}

\overline{PQ}=\sqrt{(-2)^2+(-2)^2+(-1)^2}

\overline{PQ}=\sqrt{9}

\overline{PQ}=3

To find the distance QR

\overline{QR}=\sqrt{(4 - 4)^2+(1 - (-5))^2+(1 - 4)^2}

\overline{QR}=\sqrt{45}

\overline{QR}=\sqrt{9\times5}

\overline{QR}=\sqrt{9}\times\sqrt{5}

\overline{QR}=3\sqrt{5}

To find the distance RP

\overline{PQ}=\sqrt{(4 - 2)^2+(-5 - (-1))^2+(4 - 0)^2}

\overline{PQ}=6

Now we have the side lengths of the triangle. And since no two side-lengths are equal, we can confidently say that this is NOT an isosceles triangle.

Our next task is to make sure whether this is a right-angled triangle or not.

Although there are multiple ways for this. One easy way to find this out is to use the Pythagorean Theorem. and see whether this equation is true?

(\overline{QR})^2 = (\overline{PQ})^2 + (\overline{RP})^2

to put it in words, what we're trying to find is: does the square of the larger side (QR) equal the sum of the squares of the smaller sides?

if this is true, then we've found that the triangle PQR is indeed a right-angled triangle.

(3\sqrt{5})^2 = (3)^2 + (6)^2

45 = 9+36

45 = 45

thus, we've proved that the triangle is right-angled!

<u>side note:</u>

An alternative way to find whether the triangle PQR is right-angled or not is to use the cosine law. (it also looks a bit like the Pythagorean theorem too if you look closely)

(\overline{QR})^2 = (\overline{PQ})^2 + (\overline{RP})^2 - 2(\overline{PQ})(\overline{RP})\cos{\theta}

you can solve the above equation for theta and check whether \theta equals to 90 or not.

if \theta = 90, then the triangle PQR is right angle! (and it WILL BE since we've already found this out using Pythagorean theorem)

A sawdust pile has a base diameter of 35 feet when it’s height is 30 feet, find the volume of the pile when it is at 50 feet tal
ladessa [460]

Answer:

The volume of the sawdust pile is 16041.7 feet.

Step-by-step explanation:

The sawdust pile formed is in the form of a cone.

The volume of a cone is:

V=\frac{1}{3}\ \pi r^{2}\ h

The information provided is:

<em>r</em> = radius of the base = diameter ÷ 2 = (35 ÷ 2) feet

<em>h</em> = height = 50 feet

Compute the volume of the sawdust pile as follows:

V=\frac{1}{3}\ \pi r^{2}\ h

   =\frac{1}{3}\times \frac{22}{7}\times (\frac{35}{2})^{2}\times 50\\\\=16041.6667\\\\\approx 16041.7\ \text{feet}

Thus, the volume of the sawdust pile is 16041.7 feet.

If the point (3,5) is on f(x) find the corresponding point on the graph of y=(x+2)+1
ad-work [718]

The corresponding point to the point given (3,5) which is on the graph of f(x) as described in the task content is; (3,6).

<h3>What is the corresponding point to the given point (3,5) as given in the task?</h3>

It follows from the task content that the point given originally is; (3,5).

However, it is required that the point which is equivalent to the given point on the graph of y=(x+2)+1 be identified.

It therefore follows that the point required as in discuss is;

y = (3+2) +1

y = 6.

Hence, the corresponding point is; (3,6).

How does the number of zeros in the product eight and five thousand compare to the number of zeros in factors? Explain.
Flura [38]
8X5000 is 40000. There's three zeroes in5000 and no zeroes in 8, yet there are 4 zeroes in the answer. This is because you must multiply the non-zeroes, and then add the zeroes from your factors. 8 times 5 is 40, add 3 zeroes to get 40000.
Hope this helps!

andrew-mc [135]
<span>This is correct. Data visualisation is done through the creation of graphs, which are simply visual representations of data that show relationships between variables. Bar graphs are a particular type of graph. Others include scatter graphs, line graphs and pie charts.</span>
