Winston Churchill was referring to Neville Chamberlain, prime minister of Britain, when he stepped from a plane in london, and waved a piece of paper, and declared that peace has been saved. Chamberlain later conceded to Hitler´s last demand, and sacrificed Czecoslovakia to satisfy the germans.

Britains choice, as Churchill stated, "<em>was between shame and war....we have chosen shame, and we will get war".
