4 0
From the given: 2nd quarter = 4 million
 Let x  and y be the amount made in the first and third quarter such that,
                     1st quarter:    4 = (x + x/3)    ; x = 3 million
                      3rd quarter:   4 = (4/5)y       ;  y = 5 million

Adding together the amounts for the first three quarter is become 12 million.

F(x)=2(5x+7) find f(-2)
dezoksy [38]
Oh how fun, functions!! You substitute f(-2) into your starting function so it will look like this:
f(x)=2(5x+7)
f(x)=10x+14
f(-2)=10(-2)+14
f(-2)=(-20)+14
f(-2)=(-6)
divide by negative 2 on each side to find f:
f=3
Hope this helped!!

a ball bounces from a height of 2 metres and returns to 80% of its previous height on each bounce. find the total distance trave
Levart [38]
 The solution to the problem is as follows:

We have 2+.8(2) + .8(.8(2)) + .8(.8(.8(2))) + ... =

2( .8^0 + .8^1 + .8^2 + .8^3 + ... ) =

2(.8^n -1) / (.8-1) . As n-->infinity, .8^n-->0 giving us

<span>2(-1)/(-.2) = 2(5) = 10 meters.

10. Mr. Schmidt's classes combined have 42 boys and 56 girls. He wants to divide them up into
Gemiola [76]

Answer:

A: 7

B: 8

C: 6

Step-by-step explanation:

You have to try to find the the same greatest factor of both of the numbers.

Since both of the numbers are divisible by 7 the number of groups equals 7.

So you divide the number of girls, which is 56, by 7, the number of girls in each group is 8.

Then you divide the number of boys, which is 42, by 7, the number of boys in each group is 6.
