"Bt maize"
Maurinko [17]

The correct is option (C) includes bacterial genes that produce a toxin that reduces damage from insect pests.

Due to advancements in plant biology, some plant species can now incorporate unique traits that are typically not found in their species. New and improved plant strains can be created using plant biotechnology. This technology is heavily utilized to advance agriculture.

A particular crystalline insecticidal protein is created by combining a specific gene sequence from the bacteria Bacillus thuringiensis with plants. Bt plant is a common name for these transgenic plants. One such transgenic plant that protects transgenic maize from damaging insects and pests is bt maize.

The bottom line difference between passive and active transport through a cell membrane’s is
Ahat [919]

Answer;

Active transport uses energy and passive transport does not

Explanation;

 • Passive transport occurs when materials move across cell membranes without using cell energy (ATP). Examples of passive transport include; diffusion, facilitated diffusion, and osmosis. It moves small molecules like water, oxygen, carbon dioxide and glucose.
 • Active transport on the other hand involves the movement of materials across the cell membrane that requires the use of cell energy (ATP).
 • In other words the difference between active transport and passive transport is that passive Transport moves ions from high concentration to low, using no metabolic energy while active Transport moves ions from low concentration to high, using metabolic energy in the form of ATP.

When a weather forecaster predicts a "low pressure system will pass through the area, what type of weather should be expected? (
MrRa [10]
D

Low-pressure systems are associated with clouds and precipitation that minimize temperature changes throughout the day, whereas high-pressure systems normally associate with dry weather and mostly clear skies with larger diurnal temperature changes due to greater radiation at night and greater sunshine during the day.

Why don't lipids dissolve in water? I know that they don't but I need to know why. I've tried looking it up but I can't find it
astra-53 [7]
Lipids don't dissolve in water because of the different polarities. Water is polar and lipids are not polar which is why they don't dissolve. What this means is that they don't bond and don't share electrons and therefore don't mix.
