What type of isolation was occurring in the collared lizard population?
Ray Of Light [21]

Answer:

Dispersal

Explanation:

It should be understood that there was a point in time when the collard lizards were going into extinction. This is due to some certain human activities such as bush burning, which caused the death of this particular creature and others.

Therefore, this activity led to the dispersal of the remaining member of the population, which resulted to being isolated on a mountain.

Action potential propagation in a skeletal muscle fiber ceases when acetylcholine is removed from the synaptic cleft. Which of t
klasskru [66]

Answer:

a) Acetylcholine is degraded by acetylcholinesterase.

Explanation:

After it binds for its receptor on the plasma membrane of the postsynaptic cell, acetylcholine must be removed in order to prevent repeated stimulation. Acetylcholinesterase is enzyme for the inactivation of acetylcholine, present at all cholinergic synapses. This enzyme hydrolyses acetylcholine and breaks it to the acetate and choline. Choline can be reused for the synthesis of the new acetylcholine molecule so it is taken back into the presynaptic cell.

3. How can we use what we know about cell membranes to treat disease
Amiraneli [1.4K]

We use cell membranes to treat disease because the cell membrane is one of the main barriers that pathogens need to overcome, hindering their replication.

What is the cell membrane?

The cell membrane is a thin lipoprotein film formed by phospholipids and proteins delimiting the cytoplasm of all types of cells. They prevent invading microorganisms from attaching to the cell and replicating.

Then, using the concepts of cell membrane, we can use them to prevent viral diseases from occurring since the virus cannot fix itself to replicate. So in this case, the cell membrane is one of the main barriers that pathogens need to overcome, hindering their replication.
