Answer:

Alice can drive 147 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

At first you subtract $17.95 from $40.

Then you are left with $22.05

Finally, you divide $22.05 by $0.15

And you get 147, so she can drive 147 miles without going over her limit.

<h3>3 Answers: Choice D, Choice E, Choice F</h3>

============================================================

Explanation:

The inequality 6x - 10y ≥ 9 solves to y ≤ (3/5)x - 9/10 when you isolate y.

Graph the line y = (3/5)x - 9/10 and make this a solid line. The boundary line is solid due to the "or equal to" as part of the inequality sign. We shade below the boundary line because of the "less than" after we isolated for y.

Now graph all of the points given as I've done so in the diagram below. The points in the blue shaded region, or on the boundary line, are part of the solution set. Those points are D, E and F.

We can verify this algebraically. For instance, if we weren't sure point E was  a solution or not, we would plug the coordinates into the inequality to get...

6x - 10y ≥ 9

6(5) - 10(2) ≥ 9 .... plug in (x,y) = (5,2)

30 - 20 ≥ 9

10 ≥ 9 ... this is a true statement

Since we end up with a true statement, this verifies point E is one of the solutions. I'll let you check points D and F.

-----------

I'll show an example of something that doesn't work. Let's pick on point A.

We'll plug in (x,y) = (-1,1)

6x - 10y ≥ 9

6(-1) - 10(1) ≥ 9

-6 - 10 ≥ 9

-16 ≥ 9

The last inequality is false because -16 is smaller than 9. So this shows point A is not a solution. Choices B and C are non-solutions for similar reasons.

Help!! whats the answer? and how do I solve!! :(
Sever21 [200]
I think the answer is 20.25 because when solving for the area of a triangle you do 1/2 base times height and so the equation would be
1/2(9)(4.5)
you would start by doing 9(4.5) which equals 40.5
then you would divide by 1/2 which equals 20.25
hope this helps:)

Solve the proportion 5/x=4/8 is
Anuta_ua [19.1K]
D. 10 is your answer.
In order to solve a proportion, you cross multiply.
In this case it will be 40=4x
Solve for x is 10. Therefore D is your answer.
Please give 5 star if it helped you. :)

Can someone please help me with this question.
Ber [7]

Answer:

square root of 2

Step-by-step explanation:

Sides are 1 and 1 and the hypotenuse is the longest side (opposite the right angle)

We can use pythagerouses theorem : a^2+b^2=c^2

this means that 1^2+1^2=c^2

1+1=c^2

2=c^2

c=2/sqrt

c is the square root of 2

the hypotenuse is the square root of 2

zmey [24]

Answer:

-23, 5

Step-by-step explanation:

JK = 14 and K = -9

J could be on the left or the right of -9

Add 14 to -9

14+-9 = 5

So J could be at 5

Subtract 14 from -9

-14-9 = -23
