A physical change is something that could be reverted back to its original form, while a chemical change is something that could not be reverted back when changed.
ex of physical change: ice - can be melted and then freeze to solid again

ex of chemical change: change of color, like adding food coloring in something and you cannot take out the color again

All of the elements in this group do have a complete or filled electron orbitals which makes them so stable or the s and p outer electron shells are complete with electrons. All of them follows the octet rule. Thus, they do not need any sharing or transfer of electrons from other compounds for them to be more stable.
