During the early 1800s, America was a young nation whose political and economic structure was not as strong as it is today. As a result America had to face crop, insuarance and banking failures together with drops in the price of the cotton and the stock market and a crisis of credit and cash. It brought what was known as the economic panics.

Explain the events that led to France giving up its territory west of the Mississippi River.
sattari [20]

Answer:

France claimed the Mississippi River and all the lands drained by it. However, after land disputes led to the French and Indian War, France was worried that it was going to lose its hold on its land to the British. During the war, France hoped that allying with the Spanish would provide an advantage in the war. The two countries signed the Treaty of Fountainebleau in 1762. Spain agreed to fight with France, and the French gave up all the land they possessed west of the Mississippi River.

What roles did great Britain's colonies play in causing that Industrial Revolution
Margaret [11]
The economic value of having colonies in the first place was for 3 main reasons

1) attain cheap labour from the native peoples
2) acquire cheap raw materials to bring to the homeland (Europe)
3) open up new markets to trade with

the first two were vital in Britains industrial revolution. Without cheap raw materials, and cheap labourers, the factories and refineries in Britain would have costed far more to maintain and keep supplied. This, in turn, would have slowed down production considerably. There is no doubt in my mind that the industrial revolution would still have taken place in Britain with or without the colonies, but WITH the colonies the process was sped up considerably.

Overall, cheap labour and raw materials attained through Britains colonial interests sped up the industrialisation of the UK.
