Answer:

When you add variables with exponents, you do not add the exponents together.

The error -> y^2+2y^2=3y^4

In this case, they have added the exponent 2+2=4.

However, you do not add it. Instead, the answer should be 3y^2

A directed line segment begins at F(-8, -2), ends at H(8, 6), and is divided in the ratio 8 to 2 by G. What are the coordinates
I am Lyosha [343]

Given:

A directed line segment begins at F(-8, -2), ends at H(8, 6), and is divided in the ratio 8 to 2 by G.

To find:

The coordinates of point G.

Solution:

Section formula: If a point divide a line segment with end points (x_1,y_1) and (x_2,y_2) in m:n, then the coordinates of that point are

Point=\left(\dfrac{mx_2+nx_1}{m+n},\dfrac{my_2+ny_1}{m+n}\right)

Point G divide the line segment FH in 8:2. Using section formula, we get

G=\left(\dfrac{8(8)+2(-8)}{8+2},\dfrac{8(6)+2(-2)}{8+2}\right)

G=\left(\dfrac{64-16}{10},\dfrac{48-4}{10}\right)

G=\left(\dfrac{48}{10},\dfrac{44}{10}\right)

G=\left(4.8,4.4\right)

Therefore, the coordinates of point G are (4.8, 4.4).

A gas has a volume of 5.0 L at a pressure of 50kPa. What happens to the volume when then the pressure is increased 125kPa. The t
Olegator [25]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

  volume goes to 2.0 L

Step-by-step explanation:

At constant temperature, volume and pressure are inversely related. Increasing the pressure by a factor of 125/50 = 2.5 will cause the volume to be reduced by that factor.

  volume = 5.0L / 2.5

  volume = 2.0 L

Mathematics question in the screenshot below.
irga5000 [103]

Step-by-step explanation:

1/6×100%=50/3%

3/24×100%=25/4%

3/8×100%=75/2%

=>50/3%+25/4%+75/2%+x=100%

=>100%-725/12%=x

=>x=59 and 5/12

Easy peasy

the bit where it says
D={something}
those are the numbers you should input for x to get y values

3.
first solve for y to make life easier
-3x-5y=20
times -1
3x+5y=-20
minus 3x both sides
5y=-3x-20
divide both sides by 5
y=-3/5x-4
sub value of the domain
x=-10
y=-3/5(-10)-4
y=6-4
y=2
a point is (-10,2)

x=-5
y=-3/5(-5)-4
y=3-4
y=-1
(-5,-1) is another

x=0
y=-3/5(0)-4
y=-4
(0,-4) is another

x=5
y=-3/5(5)-4
y=-3-4
y=-7
(5,-7)

points are (-10,2), (-5,-1), (0,-4), (5,-7)

4.
input
x=-2
y=(-2)^2-3
y=4-3
y=1
(-2,1)

x=-1
y=(-1)^2-3
y=1-3
y=-2
(-1,-2)

x=0
y=(0)^2-3
y=-3
(0,-3)

x=1
y=(1)^2-3
y=1-3
y=-3
(1,-3)

x=2
y=(2)^2-3
y=4-3
y=1
(2,1)

the points are (-2,1), (-1,-2), (0,-3), (1,-2), (-2,1)
