because the model makes the concepts easier to understand

Explanation:

A model would be useful because they make concepts easier to understand.

Models are abstractions of the real world.

  • Scientists use model to make concepts easier to understand
  • Models take parts of the real world and simulates them.
  • They help remove the ambiguity that might be associated with studying the real world.

Problem PageQuestion A major component of gasoline is octane . When octane is burned in air, it chemically reacts with oxygen ga
Ivahew [28]

Answer:

grams of oxygen = 21.40 g

Explanation:

octane → C8H18

The chemical reaction needs to be represented with a chemical equation before solving. The equation also need to be balanced.

C8H18 + O2 → CO2 + H2O

Balanced equation

2C8H18 + 25O2 → 16CO2 + 18H2O

Molar mass of octane = 12 × 8 + 18 = 96 + 18 = 114 g

Mass of octane in the chemical equation = 2 (114) = 228 g

molar mass of oxygen = 32 g

mass of oxygen in the chemical equation = 25 × 32 = 800  g

if  228 g of octane react with 800 g of oxygen

6.1 g of octane will require ? grams of oxygen

cross multiply

grams of oxygen = 6.1 × 800/228

grams of oxygen = 4880 /228

grams of oxygen = 21.4035087719

grams of oxygen = 21.40 g

What role does the salt bridge play in a voltaic cell? It allows electrons to flow from the anode to the cathode.It allows migra
Mnenie [13.5K]
The answer is it contains the electrodes. Without the salt scaffold, the arrangement in the anode compartment would turn out to be decidedly charged and the arrangement in the cathode compartment would turn out to be contrarily charged, on account of the charge lopsidedness, the terminal response would rapidly stop.
It keeps up the stream of electrons from the oxidation half-cell to a decrease half cell, this finishes the circuit.

Taking into account the definition of density, the mass of a substance with a volume of 150 cm³ and a density of 1.5 \frac{g}{cm^{3} }  is 225 grams.

<h3>What is density</h3>

Density is defined as the property that matter, whether solid, liquid or gas, has to compress into a given space.

In other words, density is a quantity that allows us to measure the amount of mass in a certain volume of a substance.

Then, the expression for the calculation of density is the quotient between the mass of a body and the volume it occupies:

density=\frac{mass}{volume}

From this expression it can be deduced that density is inversely proportional to volume: the smaller the volume occupied by a given mass, the higher the density.

<h3>Mass of the substance in this case</h3>

In this case, you know that:

  • Density= 1.5 \frac{g}{cm^{3} }
  • Volume= 150 cm³

Replacing in the definition of density:

1.5 \frac{g}{cm^{3} } =\frac{mass}{150 cm^{3} }

Solving:

mass= 1.5 \frac{g}{cm^{3} }  ×150 cm³

<u><em>mass= 225 g</em></u>

In summary, the mass of a substance with a volume of 150 cm³ and a density of 1.5 \frac{g}{cm^{3} }  is 225 grams.
