Describe the effect an increase in n, the number of payment periods, has on the monthly payment P in the formula 2007-11-02-00-0

0_files/i0170000.jpg a. An increase in n, the number of payment periods, will not change P, the monthly payment. b. An increase in n, the number of payment periods, will create an increase in P, the monthly payment. c. An increase in n, the number of payment periods, will create a decrease in P, the monthly payment. d. An increase in n, the number of payment periods, can increase or decrease P, the monthly payment, depending on the value of PV.

A rectangular plot of land is to be enclosed by a fence. One side is along a river, and does not need to be enclosed. If the tot
Bad White [126]

Answer:

Width 150 meters.

Length = 350 meters.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us assume the width of the fence = k meters

So, both sides = k + k = 2k meters

Also, the TOTAL fencing length = 600 m

So, the one side length of the fence = (600 - 2 k) meters

AREA = LENGTH x WIDTH

⇒ A(k) = (600 - 2k) (k)

or, A = -2k² + 600 k

The above equation is of the form: ax² +bx + C

Here: a = - 2 , b = 600 and C = 0

As a< 0, the parabola opens DOWNWARDS.

Here, x value is given as: x = \frac{-b}{2a}

Solving for the value of k similarly, we get:

k = \frac{-b}{2a} = \frac{600}{2(-2)} = 150

Thus the desired width = k = 150 meters

So, the desired dimensions of the plot is width 150 meters.

And length = 650 - 2k = 650 - 300 = 350 meters.

I'm not really looking for an exact answer, I'm more so looking for an explanation on how to do this.
marshall27 [118]

I would have each block be 1/6 of a yard

You could technically have any value you want, but for me 1/6 is easiest because 1/2 and 1/3 will scale up to this like so

1/2 = (1/2)*(3/3) = 3/6

1/3 = (1/3)*(2/2) = 2/6

The diagram below might help if you're still stuck on why I picked 1/6.

Mike has 78 feet of fencing available for his garden, this is the perimeter (P) of the rectangle:
Perimeter: P=78 feet

The formula of Perimeter is:
P=2(W+L), where W is the width and L is the length, then:

P=78→2(W+L)=78
Dividing both sides of the equation by 2:
2(W+L)/2=78/2
W+L=39

If the shape is of a golden rectangle, we know:
L=1.6W
Replacing this above:
W+1.6W=39
Adding similar terms:
2.6W=39
Solving for W
2.6W/2.6=39/2.6
W=15 feet

L=1.6W=1.6(15)→L=24 feet

Answer: The dimensions of the garden are: Width=15 feet and Length=24 feet.

How do we identify the slope and the y-intercept for each of the function representations?
Gelneren [198K]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

for y intercept

we calculate f(0) and the value is y intercept

for the slope we have 2 points (x1,y1) and (x2,y2)

the slope is (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
