Explanation:

Template: T, A, C, G

Pairing: T- A, A-T, C-G, G-C

Answer: adenine, thymine, guanine, cytosine

Further explanation:

Nucleic acids are comprised of smaller units called nucleotides and function as storage for the body’s genetic information. These monomers include ribonucleic acid (RNA) or deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). They differ from other macromolecules since they don’t provide the body with energy. They exist solely to encode and protein synthesis.

Basic makeup: C, H, O, P; they contain phosphate group 5 carbon sugar, these nitrogen bases which may contain single to double bond ring.

DNA stores all of an organism’s genetic information. Its molecules comprise the nitrogenous bases Guanine, Adenine, Cytosine and Thymine. These pair up as base pairs due to their varied structure- largely influenced by the location of N molecule ;

 • cytosine and thymine are formed from pyrimidines- N at position 1 and 3 of a fused ring;
 • Guanine and adenine are formed from organic compounds called purines (pyramidines fused to another organic ring of imidazole)
 • Each base pair contains a purine and pyrimidine joined via hydrogen bonding e.g. A-T & G-C and are called base complements.

In certain combinations, these bases form codons which act as instructions for protein synthesis. Codons are three nucleotide bases encoding an amino acid or signal at the beginning or end of protein synthesis.

Why has the spread of the herbicide-resistant hydrilla through Florida’s waterways resulted in them no longer being navigable by
daser333 [38]

The solution is: b.-The weed clogs the propellers that the boats used for propulsion.

The South Florida Water Administration District (SFWMD) and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) are decided to start on March 2, 2010, the widespread attempt to govern the increase of the hydrilla on 1,745 acres of Cypress Lake. The invasive plant can clog waterways, save you navigation, and have an effect on wildlife.

Explanation: The solution is: b.-The weed clogs the propellers that the boats used for propulsion.

What is resistant ?

Resistant is something that stops the other germs causing the agent to be spread.

Hence concluded that option b. the weed clogs propellers that boats use for propulsion.

According to the octet rule, if an atom has fewer than 8 electrons in the outer most energy level, what is likely to happen?
Sliva [168]

According to the octet rule, If an atom has fewer than 8 electrons in the outer most energy level, it will react with other nearby atoms to give, receive or share electrons until it has a full outer shell. Option D.

What is the octet rule?

The octet rule is a theory stated by Lewis (1917) and is used to explain how atoms are combined.

The theory explains how atoms from different elements tend to complete their outer energy layer with 8 electrons to reach a stable electronic configuration.

The ions of different chemical elements complete their last energy levels when combined with other atoms.

Atoms can either gain or share electrons with other atoms to compose the molecule,

 • High electronegativity elements gain electrons until they get to complete the octet.
 • Low electronegativity elements lose or share electrons to get to the octet.

In this way, the rule explains how atoms form bonds to create a molecule.

The rule is used to predict the behavior of several substances according to their electronic configuration.

Among the options, the correct one is option D. if an atom has fewer than 8 electrons in the outer most energy level, it will react with other nearby atoms to give, receive or share electrons until it has a full outer shell.

Describe how the three major types of deserts differ in their climate and vegetation. How do plants and animals survive?
egoroff_w [7]

Answer:

a)

1. Tropical deserts: Hot and dry most of the year; They have a few plants and a hard, windblown surface strewn with rocks and some sand.

2. Temperate deserts: Hot in the summer and cold in the winter; There is more precipitation than tropical deserts; The sparse vegetation primarily consists of widely dispersed, drought-resistant shrubs and cacti or other succulents adapted to the lack of water and temperature variations.

3. Cold deserts: Winters are cold, summers are warm or hot, and precipitation is low; Desert plants and animals have adaptations that help them to stay cool and to get enough water to survive.

b)

Plants and animals survive because They have adaptations that help them to stay cool and to get enough water to survive
