Which would be the Arrhenius acid and Arrhenius base between HF and KOH

Chemistry
1 answer:
VARVARA [1.3K]3 years ago
8 0

Answer:

HF is the Arrhenius acid and KOH is the Arrhenius base.

Explanation:

An Arrhenius acid dissociates in water to form H+ ions in solution.

An Arrhenius base dissociates in water to form OH- ions in solution.

Write the equations by breaking the compounds into their elements

HF→ H⁺ + F⁻       HF produces H⁺ when added to water, so it is the acid.

KOH→ K⁺ + OH⁻   KOH produces OH⁻ when added to water, so it is the base.

The radii of the atoms become smaller from sodium to chlorine across period 3. This decrease is primarily a result of
Alexxx [7]

Answer:

Nuclear Charge

Explanation:

As we move from sodium to chlorine across, there's increase in atomic number (protons). This also means there is increase in the valence electrons (The valence electrons is denoted by the group).

As the number of protons increases, the nuclear energy also increases. Due to this, the electrons are attracted more strongly and pulled closely to the nucleus.

How is heating of sugar and heating of ammonium chloride different from each other? Explain your answer.
algol13
When sugar is heated it melts and then caramelize giving of water. After this, it turns blank (carbon) and then coverts to co2 (carbon dioxide) .
So, heating of sugar is an endothermic , decomposition and oxidation reaction.
When Ammonium Chloride is heated , it directly goes from solid state to vapour state without changing into liquid state.
So, heating of Ammonium Chloride is an example of sublimation reaction.
