What is the purpose of a dichotomous key of the sort you might find in a field guide?
Serjik [45]

Good morning!! The purpose of both a dichotomous key and a field guide's purpose is to identify organisms. The only difference between the two is the a dichotomous key just uses descriptions to identify the animal with no pictures, but a field guide uses pictures to identify the organism. Another thing that separates the two is that the dichotomous key gives questions/descriptions that describe the organism, whereas the field guide uses a brief description of the animal. Hope I helped!!

Tetrahydrofolate is important for the activity of which enzyme?
saul85 [17]

Answer:

GAR and AICAR transformylase

Explanation:

Tetrahydrofolate is essential for purine and pyrimidine synthesis, its deficiency can lead to inhibition of nucleic acid such as DNA and RNA and protein synthesis, which are important for the growth and survival of both normal cells and cancer cells. N-10-formyltetrahydrofolate acts as a donor of  carbon atoms to the actively growing bases. It contribution is mediated by the action of the Glycinamide Ribonucleotide (GAR) transformylase and the N-5-aminoimidazole-4-carboxamide ribonucleotide (AICAR) transformylase.

After 24 hours, ninety percent of the original bacteria die, but the remaining ten percent survive and later reproduce.
