Ok, First, change 2/3 to 8/12 by multiplying 3 x 4 which gives you 12. So, 8/12 - 8/12 gives you 0. Hope this helped.

You times the denominator from 2/3 by 4 so it can be equivalent to 8/12
2/3 x 4 = 8/12-8/12=0
