A fraction is less than 1. Choose a counterexample that will prove this conjecture false

Answer:

1st option

Step-by-step explanation:

Here we are trying to prove that not all fractions are less than 1. So we have to choose an example in which the fraction is more than 1.

1) \frac{8}{7}  = 1 \frac{1}{7}

This fraction is greater than 1 hence it can prove that the conjecture is false.

2) ½ is lesser than 1 and will not prove that the conjecture is false.

Can somebody help with geometry? I need to know how to prove it to be a rectangle. I already proved parallelogram.
Vanyuwa [196]
I'm not sure how to give you solid proof, like an equation or something, but you can see that out of the four coordinates, two of them have the y-value of 4 and two of them have the y-value of 2. Also, there is 1.5 in between each x-value that is paired with the same y-value... if that makes sense. So for (0.5, 2) and (3, 2), there is 1.5 in between 0.5 and 3. I hope this helps! Sorry it's a bit of a weird answer

The difference between six times a number and 7 is equal to five times the sum of the number and 4. Find the number.
pochemuha
The difference (subtraction) of 6 times a number (x represents number) and 7. This gives us 6x-7. That is equal to five times (multiplication) the sum (addition) of the number, x, and 4. This gives you = 5(x+4) and combined gives us B, 6x-7=5(x+4).

Solve the system of equations by substitution
r-ruslan [8.4K]
We have y=2x and y=x+2
They both equal y, so substitute the first equation for y in the second equation.
2x=x+2
Let’s get x to one side. Let’s subtract x from both sides.
X=2
Since x=2, just plug in 2 for x.
2+2=4
So,
X=2
Y=4
