The non-federalists did not like the power that was being given to the central government of the fact that there was not a Bill of Rights already included in the Constitution, so they created one shortly after the Constitution was signed.

Answer:

Federalists argued that the Constitution did not need a bill of rights, because the people and the states kept any powers not given to the federal government. Anti-Federalists held that a bill of rights was necessary to safeguard individual liberty.

The purpose of the Bill of Rights is to limit the government and to protect and to secure the individual rights of others. It gives the rights of privacy and can be controversial and o[en to interpretation. It protects the freedom of religion, speech, the press, and to assemble a petition. It is important because it has the Amendments and tells citizens what to do and what not to do. According to Thomas Jefferson, "A Bill of Rights is what the people are entitled to against every government on earth... and what no just government should refuse".

Chapter #8: What is represented metaphorically through
zubka84 [21]

Answer:

The killing of the sow represents the boys' loss of innocence in the land and their desperation without a mother figure.

Explanation:

William Golding's Lord of the Flies is a story about a group of young boys stranded on an island after their plane crashed. Their life on the island and their gradual loss of order and civilization is shown in the story.

Chapter 8: Gift for the Darkness reveals the boys' killing of the sow and the piglets. Under the leadership of Jack, the group of boys killed the pigs and put her head on a stick. This act of beheading the sow is representative of the group's loss of innocence in being motherless in a deserted land. The sow's death is the missing mother figure in the young boys' lives. The sow and her young piglets are representative of the innocence of nature. And when they are murdered, the innocence was lost.

9
Why doesn't sexual reproduction produce identical offspring?
Aloiza [94]

Answer/Explanation:

Sexual reproduction is a a combination of chromosomes from each mate. Since each mate has different pairs, when combined they produce a completely different product.

This product has half of the characteristics from both sides.

Below is an example of how this works. The bold cells are from one mate and the other is from the other.

X     --->    ><    <---   X

X     --->    ><    <---   X

X     --->    ><    <---   X

X     --->    ><    <---   X

X     --->    ><    <---   X

As shown, the cells broke in half and combined with the other half forming a cell of 50/50. With this process it never created an identical offspring but different ones each time since different parts of the cell combines in different ways but still remains half of one and half of the other.
