Since this is an inequality we need more than just the equal sign, but it can help to create a linear equation to get it.  we only need to define one variable since they give us one, so what i will use is M=total money earned

M=350+25N

now simply replace your equation sign with the less than or equal to sign (\leq)  and the M with the 500 since Myra wants at least that.

500\leq350+25N

now we must look for the least amount of times Myra needs to mow lawns, use the linear equation because exactly $500 is earned. this will be our M

500=350+25N

now take away 350 from each side so we can get N alone

150=25N

now divide each side to get N completely alone and that will give us the least amount of lawns Myra will need to mow to get to her goal

6=N, and since this was supposed to be an inequality replace the equal sign with the less than or equal to sign, 6\leqN, or at least 6 lawns need to be mowed to get to Myra's goal

Which expression is equal to x + (y + z)?
arsen [322]
X+(y+z) is equal to saying (x+y)+z

This is called the cumulative property when order doesn’t matter or doesn’t change the equation. As in 1+2 is the same as 2+1. No matter which way we get the same answer. This only works with multiplication and addition though. Hope this helps. Any questions please just ask!! Thank you so much!!

Which ordered pairs lie on the graph of the exponential function f(x)=−3^(x−1) +2 Select each correct answer.
katrin [286]
<h3>Answer:</h3>

(1, 1), (4, -25)

<h3>Step-by-step explanation:</h3>

You can evaluate the function to see.

f(-1) = -3^(-1-1)+2 = -3^(-2)+2 = -1/9 +2 ≠ 2

f(1) = -3^(1-1) +2 = -1 +2 = 1

f(0) = -3^(0-1) +2 = -1/3 +2 ≠ 0

f(4) = -3^(4 -1) +2 = -27 +2 = -25

_____

Or, you can graph the points and the curve.

Andrew is paid $4 per hour for the first 30 hours he works each week. He makes $5 per hour for each hour he works over 30 hours
klasskru [66]

Answer:

If Andrew works for 30 for $4 he will have a total wage of 30×4=$120

And gets additional $5for every hr worked beyond 30hrs in that week

So he gets a total of 5(x-30)

So if he works for 40hrs he gets a total wage of

5(40-30)=50

120+50=$170

If he works for 50 hours he gets Total wage of

5(50-30)=100

120+100=$220
