Answer : 50.7 mg

Explanation : One mole of ascorbic acid molecule C_{6}H_{8}O_{6} contains molar mass as 176 g/mol. When a person consumes a sweet lime which has the ascorbic acid content as 2.86 X 10^{- 4} mol; the total requirement of vitamin C for the adult human will be equal to;

2.86 X 10^{- 4} X 176 = 0.050688 g = 50.7 mg

This clearly shows that consuming one sweet lime daily will not fulfill the requirement of vitamin C for the human adult body, as the requirement range is from 70-90 mg daily.

What do you notice about how plants get their energy in a DESERT ECOSYSTEM?
Nikitich [7]
Desert plants work hard to make use of what's available. They use the sun's energy to convert carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O) into sugar, a process called photosynthesis. During this process, stomata on a plant's leaves and stems open to absorb carbon dioxide from the air and in return release oxygen. :)
