In order to find the opposite of a number we simply change the sign of the number. Since K is to the left of 0, this means K is a negative number. The opposite of K will be a positive number and will be on right side of the 0 on the number line.

Opposite of a number has only different sign. The magnitude (value) of the number remains the same. This means, the opposite of K will be on equal distance from 0 as is the original number K.

Therefore, opposite of K will be K units to the right of 0.

1. What is the probability of rolling a number less
Darina [25.2K]

Answer:

1/2

Step-by-step explanation:

There are 2 numbers less than 3. (1 and 2) and one 6 on a dice. Therefore there is a 3 out of 6 chance of rolling one of these 3 numbers (1, 2, and 6). This can be represented as 3/6 which would simplify to 1/2 or 50%.

It can also be found this way...

Probability = Number of desired outcomes ÷ number of possible outcomes. Therefore 3 ÷ 6 = 0.5 which is equal to 50% or 1/2.

I hope you choose my answer so you do well on your assignment! I've gotten an A in math every year :)

What is the arc length?
Gwar [14]

Answer:

approximately 21, when rounded to nearest tenth.

Step-by-step explanation:

First, let's find the measure of angle BAD. Angles BAD and DAC add up to 180 degrees, so 180-57= 123 degrees. Now, let's find the circumference of the circle. The circumference is diameter * π, which is 19.6(π). Then, the ratio is 123/360, so multiply 19.6(π) by 123/360, and you get 21.0381988...... which simplifies to 21 (rounded to nearest tenth)

Explain how solving 4x < -16 is different from solving -4x< 16.
nalin [4]

Answer:

Dividing by 4 and -4

Step-by-step explanation:

Solving 4x < -16 is different from solving -4x< 16, because for 4x < -16, you are dividing by a positive 4 on both sides, but for -4x< 16, you are dividing by -4 on both sides.
