Answer:

HJ is diameter.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given Triangle HKJ is inscribed in the circle. we have to conclude about HJ if the triangle is a right triangle.

All the three sides are chord of the circle.

As given HKJ is right angled triangle i.e∠HKJ=90° and angle subtended by diameter in the semicircle is 90° implies HJ is diameter because if the HJ moves towards the angle then the given angle becomes acute and if moves away from the angle then the angle becomes obtuse which contradict the given information.

hence, the only possibility about the line HJ is that it is a diameter.

Anusha is walking on a hiking trail at a rate of 3/4 miles in 1/4 hour. At this rate, how far will Anusha walk in an hour?
kherson [118]
3 miles. Using cross-multiplication, 3×4 = 12 and 4×1 = 4, so 12/4 = 3.

A principal of $40,000 will be invested in an account. Bank A has a 5.5% annual interest rate compounded daily. Find the amount
DerKrebs [107]

Answer:

$116800

Step-by-step explanation:

Step one:

given

principal= $40,000

rate= 5.5%

time = 20 years

Step two:

the final amount is expressed as

A= P(1+r)^t

substitute

A= 40000(1+0.055)^2^0\\\\A= 40000(1.055)^2^0\\\\A= 40000*2.92\\\\A=116800\\\\

$116800

Please helpppp it has to do with P(A U B)
Katyanochek1 [597]
P(A)=0.5, P(B)=0.6, P(A\cup B)=0.8

We find the probability of intersection using the inclusion/exclusion principle:

P(A\cap B)=P(A)+P(B)-P(A\cup B)=0.3

By definition of conditional probability,

P(A\mid B)=\dfrac{P(A\cap B)}{P(B)}=\dfrac{0.3}{0.6}=0.5

For A and B to be independent, we must have

P(A\cap B)=P(A)\cdot P(B)

in which case we have 0.3=0.5\cdot0.6, which is true, so A and B are indeed independent.

Or, to establish independence another way, in terms of conditional probability, we must have

P(A\mid B)\cdot P(B)=P(A)\cdot P(B)\implies P(A\mid B)=P(A)

which is also true.
