Answer:

a. People with less religious backgrounds engage in less altruistic behavior than people with nonreligious histories, or there is no difference between the groups with respect to altruistic behavior.

Correct, that's what we try to proof, and on this case this statement present how we need to put the null hypothesis and we have the key word "there is no difference" that is important to use when we create the null hypothesis for this type of test.

Step-by-step explanation:

Previous concepts

The null hypothesis attempts "to show that no variation exists between variables or that a single variable is no different than its mean"

The alternative hypothesis "is the hypothesis used in hypothesis testing that is contrary to the null hypothesis"

Solution to the problem

We want to proof that "people with religious backgrounds engage in more altruistic behavior than nonreligious people"

Assuming that we have the following options, we select one based on the info provided.

a. People with less religious backgrounds engage in less altruistic behavior than people with nonreligious histories, or there is no difference between the groups with respect to altruistic behavior.

Correct, that's what we try to proof, and on this case this statement present how we need to put the null hypothesis and we have the key word "there is no difference" that is important to use when we create the null hypothesis for this type of test.

b. People with religious backgrounds are more altruistic than people with nonreligious backgrounds.

That's not at all False, but the problem is that we don't specify if we have differences or not betwen the two groups, for this case is not the best answer.

c. People with nonreligious backgrounds are more altruistic than people with religious backgrounds.

That's not true since we are trying to proof the inverse statement. "people with religious backgrounds engage in more altruistic behavior than nonreligious people"

d. There would be no null hypothesis for this experiment.

False that's not correct, we have a null and alternative hypothesis for this case.

(-2/3)*(-2 1/4)*(3/4)   Convert the mixed fraction to improper fraction.
(-2/3)*(-9/4)*(3/4)   Then you multiply the numerators with numerators and                                             denominators with denominators

(-2*-9*3)           negative times negative is positive, so the negative sign is gone
-------------
(3*4*4*)              The lines (-----) is the line of the fraction

54/48            This is the product of this multiplication, now you need to simplify
                        by reducing the numbers of the fraction

9/8         And that would be the answer

Answer:

Okay so I’m gonna do a few and list a few examples

In slope intercept form its

y=mx+b

Y= Random Y coordinate (Not that important for now while writing)

m= Slope

X= random x coordinate (not that important for now while writing)

b= Y intercept

SO basically plug it in like that so for the first one

the slope is 1/3  and y-intercept is -1

so

y=1/3x-1

And thats how you do it

leave the y and x

Graphing

So for graphing or fining the equation, first identify the y-intercept

The y-intercept is on the y axis (obviously), and its the number where the line first hits, so for the first one, the y intercept is 3 becuase thats where the first line meets on the Y axis. When identified start doing rise over run, lik just go up and right, if there is no space, dot he opposite, go down and go left or right (depends if the line is rising or falling, you can tell if rising (positive) if the line goes from down to up form left to right , if falling (negative) vice versa, up to down from left to right). And just write the equation after identifying the slope And y-intercept, the x and y don’t matter.

4) y= -1/3x+3 (watch your signs, if falling the slope is automatically negative)

5) y=1/2x+1

6) y=4x-5 (negative y-intercept due to the part where the y meets up with the line, its in the negative side)

(remember to write these equations on the top side of the line
