Mathematics

Exponential growth example would be cell replication or populations. Population is 2 people have 2 kids, those 2 kids have 2 kids, those 2 have 2. In a perfect world it follows 2^n where n is generation. Same with bacterial growth and cell replication.

exponential decay is most commonly taught with atomic half lives and radiation. every time an elements half life expires, half of it is no longer radioactive. so it follows. 1/(2^n) where n is the number of half lives

Step-by-step explanation:

# Area of painting = 20 × 16

# Area of combination = 25 × 20

.°. Area of frame = Area of combination - Area of painting

= (25×20)-(20×16)

=20 (25-16)

=20 × 9

= 180 {cm}^{2}

marion wants to make 7/8 cup of salad for each person at her party. how many salad does she need to make for herself and four fr
BabaBlast [244]
To answer that think of this as how many groups of 7/8 cups of salad are needed.

If Marion is with four friends, she need salad for five total people.

She will need five groups of 7/8 cups of salad.

This is represented as 5 x 7/8.

5 x 7/8 = 4 3/8 cups of salad

Find an equation of the line passing through the given points (1,-3) and (3,3)
chubhunter [2.5K]

ANSWER: y= 3x - 6

STEP-BY-STEP EXPLANATION:

(1,-3) and (3,3)

X1=1           X2=3

Y1= - 3       Y2=3

1) Find the slope of the line.

To find the slope of the line passing through these two points we need to use the slope  formula:

m = \frac{Y2-Y1}{X2-X1}

m= \frac{3-(-3)}{3-1}   m=\frac{6}{2} = 3

2)Use the slope to find the y-intercept.

Now that we know the slope of the line is 3 we can plug the slope into the equation and  we get:

y= 3x+b

Next choose one of the two point to plug in for the values of x and y. It does not matter  which one of the two points you choose because you should get the same answer in either  case. I generally just choose the first point listed so I don’t have to worry about which  one I should choose.

y= 3x+b       point (1,-3)

-3= 3(1) + b

-3-3=b

-6=b

3)Write the answer.

Using the slope of 3 and the y-intercept of -6 the answer is:

y = 3x - 6
