The fith term of a G.P is 8 times the 2nd term find its common ratio
Dovator [93]

Answer:

Common ratio r = 2

Step-by-step explanation:

\because the fith term of a G.P is 8 times the 2nd term.

\therefore  \: t_5 = 8\times t_2 \\ \therefore  \: ar^{5-1}=8\times \: ar^{2-1}  \\ \therefore  \: r^{4}=8\times \: r^{1} \\ \therefore  \: r^{3}=8 \\ \therefore  \:r^{3}= {2}^{3}  \\   \hspace{20 pt}\huge \red{ \boxed{\therefore  \:r= {2}}} \\

Hence, common ratio is 2.

The five-number summary for a data set is given below. 1.3 3.8 4.1 4.4 12.4 Using the 1.5 x IQR Rule, any data value _____ than
mixas84 [53]

Answer:

Any data value <u>less</u> than 2.9 should be flagged as a suspected outlier.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have been given the five-number summary for a data set is given below. 1.3  3.8  4.1  4.4  12.4. Using the 1.5 x IQR Rule, any data value _____ than 2.9 should be flagged as a suspected outlier. We are asked to fill in the given blank.

Our given points (1.3  3.8  4.1  4.4  12.4) represent minimum point, 1st quartile, median, 3rd quartile and maximum point.

First of all, we will find interquartile range by subtracting 1st quartile from 3rd quartile.

IQR=4.4-3.8=0.6

Using 1.5 x IQR Rule, we will get our outliers as:

3.8-(1.5\times IQR)\Rightarrow3.8-(1.5\times 0.6)=3.8-(0.9)=2.9

12.4+(1.5\times IQR)\Rightarrow12.4+(1.5\times 0.6)=12.4+(0.9)=13.3

Therefore, any data value less than 2.9 and greater than 13.3 should be flagged as a suspected outlier.

What is the domain of the function y=sqrtx+6-7
cupoosta [38]
I'm assuming ya mean
y=\sqrt{x+6}-7

alrighty, domain is the numbers  you can use for x without making wierd stuf happen
the only numbers you can't use are the ones that cause a division by 0 or a squaer root of a negative number

no value of x will make a division by 0 but we can have a negative squaer root
solve for where it will be negative and restrict that reigon

the part under the squaer root is x+6
so
x+6<0
minus 6 both sides
x<-6

that is where we begin to see negative squaer roots

so the domain is x≥-6
