Sugar and oxygen are the precursors of cellular respiration.

Further Explanation:

Cellular respiration is a biochemical pathway that oxidizes glucose and oxygen to produce water and carbon dioxide as a byproduct and generates energy in the form of ATP. The breakdown of energy-rich food molecules occurs during cellular respiration.  Cellular respiration is an important process that takes place in all cells to generate energy for various metabolic activities. Glycolysis is the very first step of cellular respiration whether it is aerobic or anaerobic respiration that occurs in the cytoplasm of the cell.

The cellular respiration takes place in the presence of oxygen and the end products of glycolysis enter into the Krebs cycle and electron transport chain to generate ATP molecules. If the oxygen is not present (anaerobic) in the cell then the final product of glycolysis produces ethanol and  . This fermentation is called ethanol fermentation. the fermentation is less efficient than aerobic respiration.

Where are fats, carbohydrates, and proteins broken down into particles small enough to be absorbed into the body?
siniylev [52]

Answer:

Duodenum (option 3)

Explanation:

Digestion of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats continues in the small intestine. Starch and glycogen are broken down into maltose by small intestine enzymes. Proteases are enzymes secreted by the pancreas that continue the breakdown of protein into small peptide fragments and amino acids.

The duodenum is the first section of the small intestine and is the shortest part of the small intestine. It is where most chemical digestion using enzymes takes place

Readme [11.4K]

Answer:

Signal transduction pathways

Explanation:

Plant hormones act by directly affecting the activities of signal transduction pathways.

Signal transduction pathways are involved in the transfer of signals from outside of the cell to the inside of the cell for the regulation of various cellular activities. For this, the extracellular signalling molecules bind to the receptors that are located on the cell membrane. After their binding due to some change in the receptor molecule, a signal is triggered in to the cell and thus information from outside of the cell is transferred to the inside of the cell through these transduction pathways.

Plant hormones affect these pathways and as a result membranes, enzymes, and genes are also influenced by the plant hormones.
